Bawdy Bruschetta
1 baguette
2 cups cherry tomatoes, cut in half or smaller
1 cup red seedless grapes, cut in half
2 avocados, diced
1/4 cup basil, cut into streamers
1/4 tsp salt
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar
Start with a medium bowl. Toss in your juicy tomatoes, plump grapes, and creamy avocado. Roll up your basil leaves and slice across the roll to make pretty basil streamers. Then let it rain.
Now get a pan nice and hot and lubricate it with about half of your olive oil. Add your minced garlic and let it get toasty in the hot oil. When it's looking tanned, pour the oil and garlic and salt over your bowl of Sexie and leave them to mix it up a bit.
In a small saucepan, get your balsamic vinegar hot and bothered on medium until it starts to boil. Then take the heat down a notch and allow it to simmer until the vinegar is reduced and looking sticky sweet. Then give it time to cool down.
Cut across your baguette on a diagonal to make 3/4 inch thick slices. Reheat your pan on medium, brush them with olive oil and place them oily side down on the hot pan. Once they are toasty, pose them on a plate.
Take a spoonful of your Sexie bowl and pile it on top of each golden slice. (If the veggie pieces are falling off, spread a piece of avocado on the bread first to give the tomatoes and grapes a soft, sticky, landing place.)
Finally, let the warm balsamic syrup drip on their heads. Cup a warm slice in your hand and guide it lovingly into your mouth. Ah, that's amore!
